Shonne Fegan-Ehrhardt
Media Specialist
Shonne is a communications professional with experience serving in a senior role to drive and develop public relations strategy to help launch new products or create sustainable communications for well-known brands and organizations. She earned and maintains the accreditation of APR (Accredited in Public Relations) from the Public Relations Society of America. Throughout her 17-year career, Shonne has been an integral part of the team for consumer products, healthcare and corporate communication initiatives for clients including Career Education Corporation (Kitchen Academy); Bristol-Myers Squibb (BARACLUDE/ entecavir); State Farm Insurance; Sargento Cheese and Elan Pharmaceuticals (PRIALT/ziconotide). Shonne has also implemented corporate communication campaigns for Chicago-based advertising and marketing agencies to generate awareness among trade and business media.
In her role at the Harbinger Group, Shonne provides support to clients in media relations, public relations strategy and writing communications materials. Prior to joining the Harbinger Group, Shonne served as a PR consultant helping corporate clients create awareness about an innovative chronic pain treatment as well as implementing a two-year public education and media campaign to reach Asian American physicians and patients to educate them about a new treatment for hepatitis B via media relations and stakeholder outreach. In addition, Shonne was the editor and writer of a monthly newsletter for Kitchen Academy, a professional culinary school, and provided public relations recommendations to increase current and future schools’ visibility in local markets.
Previously, Shonne worked for Manning, Selvage & Lee (MS&L) in Chicago and Detroit, developing and implementing PR plans for Chevrolet (General Motors’ largest brand) as well as several Procter & Gamble Company brands. She was part of the management team that developed and wrote an integrated marketing plan to leverage Chevrolet’s sponsorship of the 2002 Winter Olympic Torch Relay, a 65-day cross-country traveling PR opportunity.
Shonne earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications Sciences from Michigan State University. In addition, she earned and maintains the accreditation of APR (Accredited in Public Relations) from the Public Relations Society of America.
